Active Roles on the project: Compositing, Pipeline Development, Shotgun Setup

The first time I really was in charge of Pipeline Development before a project. We had a partner back the Grid from Belgium, and we agreed to use Shotgun and Tank as a basis back then. I still like the old architecture with engines, apps and frameworks. It is all super structured… but it was a lot of Yaml code and configuration.

Though with our setup it was fine in terms of speed, we were on Linux and all was running fine. The first time I openend Photoshop on windows for storyboard I was shocked how slow this all was.

I setup shotgun back then, made the basic file folder naming convention stuff through toolkit. Wrote a naming convention based Standalone Publisher, which was pretty chaotic.

Then several publishes, around editorial and comp mostly. Nico Rehberg did the 3d side, brilliantly as always.

For Studio Rakete this basically became the foundational pipeline to tackle all projects after Noah.
